The workshop will consist of a discussion of the history and core teachings of Buddhism and Zen and a detailed description with a demonstration of Zen meditation (zazen).
The workshop will be informal with ample time for questions and dialog. Specific instruction in meditation will be provided and participants will have an opportunity to practice Zen meditation (zazen).
While the workshop is aimed at introducing Zen to beginners, it may also be of value to the experienced meditator.
The workshop will be led by Ken Perry, a Soto Zen practitioner with over 12 years experience in the Kodo Sawaki and Taizen Deshimaru tradition. He is a devoted student of Tony Bland Roshi and presently serves as Teaching Assistant for the Shorinji Zen Association
