Coffee Basics Class and Cupping

The four-week series hopes “to show off the fun behind something that seems so innocuous as caffeine intake.”

February 10 – COFFEE BASICS AND AUTODRIP
A hands-on class based around coffee brewing for home auto-drip machines. We will also cover the basics of coffee vocabulary and talk a bit about proportions and the science of extraction. We will end each class with a cupping.

February 17 – AEROPRESS AND FRENCH PRESS
A hands-on class that will cover both french press and aeropress brewing. We will cover some basics of coffee grinding and extraction while demystifying these brewing methods.

February 24 – CHEMEX AND BEEHOUSE
Class will be hands-on workshop that covers both chemex brewing as well as beehouse drip brewing. There will be discussion of pure extraction as well as coffee storage. We will try multiple coffees from our own roastery throughout the class.

March 10 – HOME ESPRESSO BASICS
This hands-on approach to espresso will cover grinding, dosing, and tamping, as well as extraction of espresso.
