Tickets are on sale for the inaugural Mississippi Food and Wine, June 13-15 in Jackson.
Four private chef dinners and two large-scale tasting events, including the fifth annual Mississippi Craft Beer Festival, are highlights of the weekend.
Founded to promote and emphasize Fondren’s award-winning culinary community, Mississippi Food and Wine is presented by BankPlus in cooperation with Fondren Renaissance Foundation (FRF) and Visit Jackson.
Thursday and Friday dinners – hosted at
The Cedars – sold out, Lou’s Full Serv – sold out, Brent’s and Albert’s at Parlor Market – will feature multi-course tasting menus prepared by leading area chefs and wines provided by expert sommeliers. Friday evening’s craft beer festival – under a tented Duling Avenue this year – will again highlight over 100 Mississippi and regional beers with brewers on-hand to discuss their latest offerings.
Saturday night’s finale “grand tasting” on Duling Avenue invites back the private dinner chefs along with others from around the south to offer tastes of food and drink representative of the state’s eclectic food and beverage scene.
The three-day event will serve as a major fundraiser for FRF, benefiting its programming and efforts in and around the Fondren area as well as throughout the city of Jackson.
A portion of the funds raised throughout the weekend will be given to food-centered charities of interest nominated by the Mississippi Food and Wine leadership committee.
