The Greater Belhaven Foundation (GBF) has announced a smoking musical line-up for the 14th Annual Bright Lights Belhaven Nights (BLBN), scheduled for August 11, 2018, in nearby Belhaven.
Headlining the event is Robert Randolph & the Family Band, The Weeks, Kingfish Ingram and up and coming thirteen-year-old singer, actress and songwriter, Elam Roberson.
Set in the historic Belhaven neighborhood, the street festival is an end-of-the-summer tradition that celebrates all things that make Greater Belhaven a great place to work, live and play, including art, music, children’s activities and food. Bright Lights Belhaven Nights has repeatedly been named a Top 20 Event in the Southeast for the month of August by the Southeast Tourism Society.
Robert Randolph & The Family Band is led by pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph whom NPR has described as a band with an “irresistible rock & roll swagger”. Rolling Stone has also included Randolph upon their list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. The band has been nominated for a Grammy three times.
Elam Roberson, a native of the Belhaven neighborhood, has a rapidly growing fan base of all ages being discovered through radio and social media networks. She recently released four new singles, “G.N.O,” “Beauty Queen,” “Stand Up,” and “Your Own Kind of Beautiful.”

Advance tickets for Bright Lights Belhaven Nights are $10 per person at greaterbelhaven.com or $15 at the gate (cash only). Children ages 12 and under are free and must be with a supervising adult at all times. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. Free parking will be available at New Stage Theatre, along Belhaven streets that have not been closed off and in the parking garage adjacent to Baptist Health Systems Medical Arts East at the corner of North and Carlisle Streets.
This year’s event will feature:
• Three stages filled with live music including Blues, Jazz, Indie Rock and Acoustic
• A private wine and craft beer tent highlighting Mississippi craft beers
• A children’s area including space jumps, arts & crafts activities, games and a clown
• Food for sale from the popular area restaurants
• Items available for purchase by the merchants and artisans of the Greater Belhaven neighborhood
• A silent auction filled with signature festival artwork and a free raffle of items from area
• Beverages, including water, soft drinks and beer for sale
