Sounds like tonight’s Fondren After 5 will be an entertaining one.
The October edition of the monthly street party, music heavy, is under the direction of Jackson Indie Music Week with co-hosts Sneaky Beans and Ardenland, sponsored in part by Find It In Fondren® and Southern Beverage Company.
The lineup kicks off at Sneaky Beans at 5 p.m. with free tunes from Vitamin Cea, Timaal Bradford, Krystal Gem and Empty Atlas.
At Duling Hall – at 8 p.m. – a ticketed show (buy tickets here) includes performances from Bark, Dream Cult and Hawthorne Heights.
Streetside, Duling Avenue is blocked with art, food, kids’ fun and acoustic sets from Seth Power and Kerry Thomas, all sponsored by Babalu, Saltine, Hal & Mal’s and CAET.
Down the block, the Capri will show indie flick, “Blood Country” (bring your own chair!) A few doors down, look for half-priced framed prints from photographer Ron Blaylock at The Studio and beer and chili at The Flamingo.
Don’t miss the Bill Lester art opening at Brown’s and live acts on the back stage at Hops & Habanas. Brent’s has free face painting 6-8 p.m. and The Pig & Pint hosts the Jackson launch party for WAITR, a smartphone app with delivery from several local restaurants (finally!)
Updates, changes – if any – and more can be found on the FA5 Facebook event. Check in there and let them know you’ll be hanging tonight.
The last Fondren After 5 of the year will be Fondren Unwrapped on a new date, December 7, presented by Bank Plus and Fondren Renaissance.
