A sea of purple will roll into Fondren on Saturday August 24 from 11am – 2pm as Fondren welcomes Millsaps students, faculty, alumni and friends for the second annual Millsaps Day in Fondren.

Many Fondren businesses will offer discounts for Millsaps students, employees and alumni. Kids activities, including a space jump and face painting, will be provided at St. Luke’s Methodist Church on Duling Avenue. Representatives from Millsaps will be available there, too, to answer questions about the college. Live music will be hosted throughout the district.

Megan James, director of First Year Experience and Fraternity and Sorority Life at Millsaps, says the event is intended to further engage the Millsaps community with Fondren. “We’re fortunate to have such a vibrant community near our campus,” she says. “Orientation leaders are encouraged to take all new students out to lunch and then spend time shopping and exploring.”

The event is a joint endeavor for the school and Fondren Renaissance and is welcomed by Find It In Fondren™.
