The Bouffants

With central Mississippi under threat of severe weather beginning Friday, organizers for Fondren’s Zippity Doo Dah® Weekend are moving two Friday events to a new location.

The Runnels Center presents The Unzipped Runway Fashion Show, schedule at The Cedars, and The Bouffants street dance on Duling Avenue will both now take place at The Hilton at 1001 East County Line Road in North Jackson. Fondren Renaissance Executive Director Jim Wilkirson made the call earlier today. “With severe weather forecast for Friday and Saturday, we’re taking all the necessary precautions for safety,” says Wilkirson.

Note: there will be a limited number of free wrist band entries for the Bouffants concert available to the public at the southwest ballroom entrance, a security check point for the event. These passes are good for The Bouffants concert only.

Other events, set for Saturday, are still on schedule in Fondren. The Children’s Character Breakfast at Walker’s Drive-In, Color Me Rad 5k at Veteran’s / JSU Stadium, Sal & Mookie’s Children’s Carnival and the nighttime Zippity Doo Dah® Parade are planned. A decision will be made late Friday on alternate times or locations, if needed, for those events.
