January 9, 2013
If you’ve ever wondered how you could hear from every Fondren group, all in one place and learn about plans for the neighborhood for the upcoming year, look no more. The Fondren Town Hall meeting will be held Thursday, January 24 at 5:30pm in the Broadmeadow United Methodist Church sanctuary.
Organizations outlining their plans for 2013 will be Fondren Renaissance, Fab, Our Fondren, SAFe and SOFO. All neighborhood associations including Broadmeadow and Woodland Hills will also be highlighted with emphasis on meeting dates and activity schedules and ways to become more directly involved in the coming year.
In a special presentation, the final public viewing and discussion concerning the Fondren Enhancement Grant, scheduled to begin in May 2013, will be given. City officials and architects dealing directly with the grant will be present to answer any questions or concerns. This grant is intended to give aesthetic and safety enhancements to the historic business district and covers the area bound by Old Canton at State (the point), State at Hartfield and Old Canton to Glenway. This will be your last chance to hear these exciting plans before construction begins.
The meeting is open to the public and is a great time to “meet Fondren” if you are considering a move to the neighborhood. Broadmeadow United Methodist Church, located in the top of Fondren, is at 4419 Broadmeadow Street, between Meadowbrook Road and Northside Drive.
