The call is a simple one: Good Samaritan Center’s 12k’s for the Holidays need volunteers. Committee member and Fondren resident Terry Neyland said via email the most important role is that of course marshals. Those volunteers are responsible for helping to maintain safe traffic flow and keeping watch over runners.

Slots needing to be filled are as follows:
• 12 course marshals – 7 a.m. to approximately 9 a.m.
• Friday (November 16) daytime packet pick-up – ANYONE who will work anytime between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
• 6 or 8 people to supervise the children’s area on Sat., November 17 , 7 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m.
• 1 or 2 people for merchandise tent
• 6 people to cover a water stop

As a reminder, race registrants who are signed up by midnight Friday night (November 9) are guaranteed a shirt. From Good Sam:
“Registration is $35 through November 9th. Don’t wait, do it today! You get your choice of Long-Sleeve Technical or Long-Sleeve T-Shirt. But only if you register by MIDNIGHT, NOVEMBER 9th.”
