For the second consecutive year, St. Dominic’s has been ranked the number one hospital in the Jackson metro area in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2012-13 Best Hospitals rankings, available online at usnews.com/besthospitals. St. Dominic’s shares the ranking with University of Mississippi Medical Center. St. Dominic’s also ranked as “high-performing” in the specialties of neurology/neurosurgery and urology.
U.S. News also recognized St. Dominic’s as one of the “Most Connected” hospitals in the country. St. Dominic’s is the only hospital in Mississippi —and one of only 156 hospitals in the nation — to receive the prestigious designation, which identifies high performing hospitals that achieve top grades for electronic medical record adoption and qualify for the Federal government’s meaningful use standards.
“St. Dominic’s is proud to be ranked as one of U.S. News & World Report’s ‘Best Hospitals’ for the second year in a row,” said Lester K. Diamond, President of St. Dominic Hospital. “The greater Jackson area is fortunate to have several quality hospitals, allowing Jackson to serve as a destination point for those seeking healthcare throughout the state.”
“The hospital’s leadership and medical staff will continue its commitment to providing high quality patient care, excellent medical outcomes and compassionate care, which is reflected in this award,” Diamond said.
