If you drove by The Everyday Gardener this morning, you noticed their semiannual plant sale underway. But what you may have missed was the semiannual homecoming for gardener Ed Nichols.  “This is my neighborhood,” he proudly said of his roots in Jackson. Nichols grew up on Hathorn Drive and was a Duling Bear as a kid. And The Everyday Gardener location was a favorite place for him – though in a different way. “This was our neighborhood filling station,” he told us.

The spring and fall sales feature herbs, annuals and perennials and 12 varieties of lettuce from Nichols’ Elephant Farms in Madison County.
