Traffick Jam is coming to Fondren April 14! A nationwide walk-a-thon aimed at helping to eradicate child trafficking in South East Asia, the event will begin and end at Sneaky Beans coffee shop. Participants from all over the Jackson area will come together to walk ten miles around Fondren. The course is a .33 loop, so 3 laps is a mile. There is also a .5 mile loop (2 laps is a mile). The Jackson walk starts at 9am and lasts til 5pm, but Traffick Jam will have special events happening throughout the day such as three bands at noon, Marlowe and the Sea, Ronnie Dennis and Risko Danza. There will be live art throughout the day, a silent auction ending at 3pm, hotdogs and hamburgers for sale and a space jump for the kids.  A post-walk concert starting at 7pm is free for TJ12 participants and $10 for others featuring Liver Mousse, Buddy and the Squids, 5th Child and Dead Gaze.

As for how the walk works, each walker that participates in the race has ten sponsors. Each sponsor gives $1 per mile, in advance, to the walker. Therefore each walker should try and raise $100 each for the cause plus a $15 registration fee that gets you an awesome t-shirt. The walker turns in the money in the Traffick Jam envelope we will provide to Drew Mellon, Jackson area coordinator. The money will then be sent to our USA headquarters, who then gets the money to Traffick Jam headquarters in South East Asia. All money given is 501c3 tax deductible.
