As we head into the last few days of this year, we would like to thank you for your continued support of the Fondren Renaissance Foundation. During the past year, we have accomplished many milestones and a few unbelievable firsts. We have held the inaugural Zippity Doo Dah Parade resulting in over $65,000 for the children of Blair Batson Hospital, dedicated a renovated green space on the Westside into a one of a kind city park complete with pavilion, running track and community garden, honored community leaders to raise awareness and funds for the continued restoration and preservation of The Cedars, as well as starting a test pilot program for an after school arts program. Our Phoenix Initiative has resulted in 56 facade grants on the Westside and just last week, we announced a new partnership between the Foundation and Habitat for Humanity Metro Jackson to expand the offerings of this rehabilitative and remodeling grant program furthering the continued development of Fondren .
All of this is to say, that although we have accomplished many things this past year, we could not have achieved these lofty milestones without the generous support of people like you. We are incredibly indebted to you for your support. Without the support of our faithful community partners and individuals like you, we would not able to maintain and achieve our goals, continue our programming, and further our reach into the community. As a Foundation, we rely on monetary gifts to support our efforts to make a difference in the community. Your much appreciated support is necessary for us to directly contribute to the proactive efforts of progress in Fondren and the greater Jackson metropolitan area and only through your continued support will we be able to offer the many events and exhibits free and open to the public.
We hope that you have had a wonderful holiday season and would like to wish you the best for the coming New Year. The Fondren Renaissance Foundation is ready start this next year more committed than ever to making a difference in the Jackson area. We hope that you will once again join us in the coming year and ask that if you are considering making a year-end charitable contribution, we hope you will consider giving to the Fondren Renaissance Foundation. Your tax deductible donation will insure that the Fondren Renaissance Foundation will be further strengthened in the coming year and be able to sustain all of its current programming while expanding and partnering on new programs for the future.
