After counting over 3,500 ballots cast during the inaugural Jackson Restaurant Week held October 2-8 in the Jackson, MS metro area, it has been determined that Friends of Children’s Hospital is the winner of the $10,000 cash prize.

Patrons of the thirty-one participating restaurants during Jackson Restaurant Week had the opportunity to vote for their favorite of five charity finalists vying for a $10,000 award. The five charities were Community Animal Rescue and Adoption, Friends of Children’s Hospital, Mississippi Firefighters Memorial Burn Association, Parents for Public Schools: Ask for More Arts, and The Alzheimer’s Association – Mississippi Chapter.

All five charities had overwhelming community support throughout Jackson Restaurant Week resulting in a significant positive economic impact on locally owned businesses and the Jackson metro area overall.

Jackson Restaurant Week was created and hosted by Eat Jackson and presented by Hotel and Restaurant Supply. For more information about Jackson Restaurant Week and the participating restaurants, visit
