The Fondren Renaissance Foundation, along with all Fondren organizations, will hold a press conference like no other on Thursday, February 3, at 10:00 a.m. outside the Fondren Corner building, 2906 North State Street, to announce plans for the inaugural Zippity Doo Dah® Parade Weekend in Fondren, a fundraiser for Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Fondren.

Featured speakers at the press conference will be Jeff Good of Sal & Mookie’s Annual Children’s Street Carnival, one of the weekend event highlights, and Jill Conner Browne, Sweet Potato Queens® Founder. Of course, this is Fondren, so be ready for some funky surprises as well.

The Zippity Doo Dah® Parade Weekend event will bring thousands to Fondren over the weekend of March 24-26, culminating with the Zippity Doo Dah® Parade featuring ehe world famous Sweet Potato Queens® on Saturday night. Fondren is honored to have Dr. Blair E. Batson himself serve as Grand Marshall of the parade. Free to the public, monies raised over the three-day festival will benefit the children of Blair E. Batson Hospital.
