Special to Find It In Fondren™
The staff of Wier Boerner Allin Architecture, along with their family, friends, industry peers, and community members, recently celebrated the opening of their newly renovated office building located at 2727 Old Canton Road in Jackson, Mississippi.
A crowd of over sixty people helped celebrate the momentous occasion.
Remarks were made by Jason Duran, Chairman of Greater Jackson Chamber Ambassadors; Robert Green, Pastor of Fondren Church; Marshand Crisler, Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Jackson; and Jack Allin, one of the three Principal Architects of Wier Boerner Allin.
“While today marks only ‘One Time and One Place’ in the story of our firm, we recognize its significance,” said Allin, alluding to the book by Mississippi author Eudora Welty. “On behalf of the entire firm, I thank our clients, friends, families, and all those who put their trust in us for helping us to get to where we are today.”
Wier Boerner Allin purchased the building in 2015, making the deliberate choice to reinvest in the Fondren neighborhood where their firm began over seven years ago. The architects are proud to say the renovated design is their own, yet builds upon the initial design created by Jones & Haas Architects.
Both floors of the building were completely gutted and renovated to accommodate and showcase modern working offices. The renovation includes a glass and brick tower addition that functions as a welcoming front door. The tower encloses a staircase and elevator that lead to Wier Boerner Allin’s second floor offices and rooftop terrace with an unabridged view of Fondren. The architectural design of the tower addition compliments and pays tribute to the concept crafted by Jones & Haas of aggregated concrete fins that run along two sides of the building.
