Nissan’s Canton plant 10th birthday bash on May 25 will feature Kool & the Gang in Fondren.

Camille Young, Nissan’s spokeswoman at the Canton plant said in a news release that the event will be held at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium. There will also be circus performers and a children’s area with a variety of activities.

Gates to the stadium will open at 4 p.m. Food and family entertainment will continue until 9 p.m., including Kool & The Gang’s performance at 7 p.m. and fireworks at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

Nissan will provide complimentary water, lemonade and tea. Food will be available from local vendors. Security will be provided. Coolers, alcohol and outside food or beverages are not allowed.

Nissan employs about 5,000 people in Canton.
