The Mississippi Kidney Walk took to the streets of Fondren on Saturday to raise money and awareness for kidney disease. Executive Director Gail Sweat announced just prior to the walk that, so far, over $100,000 had been raised by this year’s efforts. The walk was named for longtime Mississippi sports broadcaster and Sports Hall of Fame director Michael Rubenstein, who lost his battle to kidney disease earlier this year.
