Broadmeadow Neighborhood Association says volunteers are the heart and soul of their annual BlocktoberFeast, coming this Saturday to Fondren. If you would like to volunteer for a one-hour shift, e-mail Terry Neyland (terryneyland@bellsouth.net).
Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
*Set up – from 1pm to 3pm - a few strong individuals are needed to pick up tables and chairs from Broadmeadow Church and set them up on Montbrook Drive.
*Sell food tickets – anytime between 3 and about 7:30pm.
*Serve food – anytime between 3 and 7:30pm.
*Clean up – pick up trash, trash bags, and return all tables and chairs to Broadmeadow UMC
*Pig watchers – teams of two who are willing to come out the night before (Friday, October 19 between 11pm. and 5am) and monitor the fire and make sure the pig stays a constant temperature.
