The Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Foundation’s Bright Lights, Belhaven Nights is Jackson’s hottest festival, and it’s happening this Saturday from 5:30pm – 9:30pm. Now in its eighth year, the annual street fest is a great night of music, children’s activities, food and fun.
Bright Lights brings about four stages of entertainment as varied as the festival attendees themselves including celtic, jazz, rock and indie artists. Food vendors will be peppered throughout the streets to offer traditional festival foods and art vendors will offer handmade wares for display and sale. Kids will be thrilled with this year’s play area at 1040 Carlisle Street. The yard will be packed with activities with this year’s theme ‘Building a Greater Belhaven’. Celebrating the Fortification Street Project and the Landmark/Baptist development, kids will find a huge sandpile with buckets and shovels, Batson’s pediatric ambulance, MS Museum of Natural Science animals with Corey, Smiley the Clown, The MS Children’s Museum, jumpers, and face painting. All activities are free with paid admission. The play area will be open 5:30-7:30pm.
Admission to Bright Lights, Belhaven Nights is only $5 for 13 and over and $1 for children 12 an under.
