Fondren Renaissance Foundation is pleased to announce the inaugural “Cedars Juried Art Exhibition” as part of the Four Seasons of The Cedars Visual and Performing Arts Series. Sponsored by art enthusiasts Jan and Lawrence Farrington, this 2012 fall exhibition will be juried by native Mississippian and internationally acclaimed artist William Dunlap.
Entry in the exhibition is open to all Mississippi artists and the deadline for submissions is July 14, 2012. Each artist may submit up to three works in any medium and cash awards will be given for first, second, third and fourth places; first place receives $750 and all accepted work must be available for sale.
An opening reception for the juried exhibit will be held on Thursday evening, September 6, 2012, at The Cedars, 4145 Old Canton Road. Additionally, recent works created by Boyd Elementary students who have taken part in the continuing arts education program of the Fondren Renaissance Foundation will be also be judged and monetary prizes awarded to them as well.
