Save some celebration from your Independence Day festivities for this year’s Fondren Freedom Fest from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 5. For the third year, Fondren Association of Businesses (FAB) will host this event for children and parents on the great lawn at Duling (corner of Duling Avenue and Old Canton Road). With carnival games, music, space jumps, a dunking booth, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, hot dogs and more, the evening will be a sure delight for families. Once more, there will be a children’s parade as participants on decorated wagons, bikes, trikes and strollers follow their own “piper” in the historic Fondren business district.

All proceeds from this year’s event are being donated to the Folds of Honor Foundation which provides support to the families of soldiers who have been killed or disabled in service to our country. While the carnival games will be free, FAB and their sponsors will encourage donations be made by participants to the foundation. There will be nominal charges for the various food items with all proceeds beyond cost being donated to the Folds of Honor Foundation as well.

Dress up your bikes and trikes, wagons and strollers for the parade then head to Duling Lawn!
