St. Richard is hosting their second annual Chatham Art Showcase on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21, 2012. This Showcase is named after the parish’s founding pastor and art enthusiast, Monsignor Josiah Chatham. The Showcase will present an exclusive group of fine artists and contemporary craftspeople from Mississippi and the surrounding states. The Showcase will be held indoors at St. Richard’s Parish Center and surrounding spaces. Preview Party tickets are $25.00 per person and must be purchased in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the door the evening of the event. Tickets will be available through the end of today and may be purchased by calling Janie Robbins at 601.540.4993 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Food for the preview party will be prepared by St. Richard’s own Julie Levanway (Fresh from the Flame). The Showcase will continue Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Concessions will be offered Saturday with proceeds to benefit St. Richard Conference of St. Vincent de Paul.
The event will be limited to 25 artists, allowing more attention and space for those being featured. St. Richard will strive to present a varied group of artists in different disciplines and with different approaches. Tours of the Sanctuary will be held Saturday afternoon for visitors interested in the award winning design of Biggs, Neal and Chastain, architect.
