Thursday night at Duling Hall was the site of the FRF Renaissance Awards honoring those who have made contributions to the community. Robert Parker Adams, Claudia Hauberg, Sister Dorothea Sondgeroth and Leland Speed were the honorees. Speed said to the crowd “you all have made so many contributions in so many ways.” Adams said “this community is where I can see neighbors and ride my bike. It’s a small town within a city and it’s my home. Sister Dorothea Sondegrath said Fondren is “family spirit and holistic health” and Hauberg lauded the neighborhood camaraderie and sense of togetherness she sees in Fondren.

The Capitol City Stage Band entertained and Walker’s Drive-In provided delicious food. The event was a fundraiser for continued preservation of the historic Cedars.
