It’s Earth Day, dedicated to making healthy decisions, not only for our planet, but for our community, too. But it’s not only about today. Last month, we brought you a piece by Terry Sullivan about responsible living that’s worth a re-read. In that regard, take a look at the ways you can make a difference:

*Take part in tomorrow’s bridge renewal program on Hawthrone Drive at Eubanks Creek. You are asked to bring your own gloves while wire brushes, paint and paint brushes will be provided. Next Saturday, April 30, the group gathers for more of the same. For more information, call Luke or Charlotte at 601-981-6925.

*The Great American Cleanup is next Saturday, April 30. Ourfondren will team with Keep Jackson Beautiful on Northview at Dunabr near Fondren Park.

*Recycle! Rainbow Co-Op provides bins for all types of materials, including metal, plastic, glass, cardboard, and more. Plastic does not need to be separated by type, and all glass, clear or colored can be taken in mixed bags. Additionally, curbside recycling services are available in Fondren. If you miss your scheduled pickup date, you can drop your materials off Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Recycling Services Inc., 3010 N Mill Street.
