COPS is saying thanks to everyone who has been a part of efforts to stay informed and be proactive in the area through their organization. Information, they say, has been shared, direction given to concerns, and attention brought to issues of importance to the community. “This is our voice with the city in many cases. It is also our opportunity to share information among the citizens in our precinct area.” COPS says some have been frustrated by the loss of Commander Kenneth Goodrum from precinct four, but the group is encouraged at the selection of Wyndell Watts as the new commander. “He hit the ground running,” they say “and we already are seeing results.”
This Thursday December, COPS will have their Police Appreciation Luncheon. The event will be at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Ridgewood Road at noon. Saundra Dewey is the hostess, and if you can help in any way with preparing or serving, contact Dewey at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 601-720-0318. Much is already covered but there are still some needs. You are also encouraged to donate to the Jackson Police Foundation. Your check will help underwrite gift cards given to precinct four officers through the foundation. Send your check to: Jackson Police Foundation c/o Breazeale, Saunders and O’Neil Attn: Therese Kersh, PO Box 80 Jackson, MS 39205. Make your tax deductible check payable to Jackson Police Foundation and make sure to note on the memo line of check: P4.
COPS again extends thanks to all and wishes you a wonderful Christmas. COPS will meet again January 27 at Redeemer Church. Buddy Graham is the Precinct 4 COPS moderator.
