The Fondren Association of Businesses said today that traffic control and safety will be of foremost importance during tomorrow night’s Fondren Unwrapped. fab president David Waugh said that the decision was made by the Fondren Renaissance Foundation NOT to close State Street (as usually happens for spring’s arts eats & beats), but instead close Duling Avenue and a block of Mitchell Avenue. Waugh also said it is expected the west side of State Street will be closed to parking and used for pedestrian purposes.

Safety is also high on the list for the evening, and Waugh said in addition to Jackson Police Department beat officer Trena Yarber, added security personnel would be in place to ensure revelers’ peace of mind. “We are proactive in our efforts,” Waugh added, “not reactive, and want to take measures in advance to make sure everyone has a great evening.”
