While today’s numbers won’t break any attendance records for community events, a Fondren cleanup was called a huge success in terms of accomplishment.  Weedstock, sponsored by by Rainbow CoOp and Fair Trade Green was billed as ‘three hours of  peace, love, music and deWEEDing.’ A part of the group used the time to pull weeds at Rainbow Plaza while another group took to the streets on trash pickup duty. From Old Canton to Fondren Place to State Street to Duling and south again on Old Canton was cleared of litter and made ready for this Thursday’s Fondren Unwrapped. Some who participated said they felt like they had done something worthwhile with their Sunday while serving the community at the same time.

Fondren leaders ask that you put litter in its proper place and help keep our neighborhood clean not only for Fondren Unwrapped but for every day of the year.
